About Us
Rally to Read: 26 years of Education Empowerment
Since its inception in 1998, the Rally to Read program has been a beacon of hope and progress in the field of education. Now in its 26th year, the program has made a significant impact: Beneficiaries: Nearly 1,000 schools, 16,000 teachers, and 700,000 learners have benefited from this initiative.
Investment: Over R120 million has been invested in literacy training, thanks to the generous support of approximately 160 private sector and individual sponsors.
Current Year Impact: This year alone, the program is supporting 60 schools, 22,096 learners, and 564 teachers.
Rally to Read focuses on improving literacy in disadvantaged rural schools, addressing the significant literacy gap exacerbated by COVID-19 through comprehensive support and resources for teachers and learners.
